Making the Pottery

The ability to make the pottery you want is greatly enhanced by a good workspace. In 2002 I had the chance to convert an 1800 sq ft structure into my "ideal" workshop, including window, wall, and door placement. So the "be careful what you wish for" opportunity descended on me. I had to consider workflow priorities, lighting, electric outlet placement, customer entry, storage, and little things like where the sun is during the day and my view out each window. I had to examine my work past habits and unfulfilled wish list under strong lenses. In the end, there are few changes I would make, and my workspace continues to offer new opportunities and inspiration ... more than I can handle sometimes.
